An exciting start to the New Year

The New Year brings exciting news for Pyramid Federal Credit Union and its members. In December, the members of Tucson Telco Federal Credit Union and Southern Arizona Communications Credit Union voted to merge with Pyramid Federal Credit Union. The three credit unions will be coming together to form a strong organization that will still provide you with the personalized service you’ve come to expect. Additionally, the merger provides members with even more access with a new branch location conveniently located at 2850 N. Country Club.

Some background on the Tucson Telco and Southern Arizona Communications Credit Unions:

Tucson Telco FCU is the credit union for Tucson Century Link (Qwest) employees and they have $30 million in assets and 4,000 members. Southern Arizona Communications CU is the credit union for Tucson Newspapers. They have about 425 members and $1.3 million in assets (as a comparison, prior to the merger Pyramid FCU had $80 million in assets). Combined, the three credit unions will be the sixth largest in Tucson with assets totaling $110 million with more than 12,000 members.

The merger also gives Pyramid FCU the opportunity to do even more in the Tucson community. Pyramid FCU will continue to support great organizations such as The United Way, The Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, The Southern Arizona Community Foodbank, the Tucson and Vail School districts and other great organizations that serve the Tucson Community.

KVOA Channel 4 Season of Hope

For the second straight year, Pyramid FCU will be partnering with KVOA Channel 4 for the Kisti’s Kids Season of Hope. This year Pyramid will be collecting non perishable food items for the Community Food Bank, new clothing for the Gospel Rescue Mission and new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Donations can be made at any of our four locations until December 19th.

In addition to the drop off locations around town, Season of Hope will be holding donation drives through out the month. Check out the KVOA Channel 4 Seaon of Hope website for more information.

Scam text message

The messages advises the recipient to call (818)534-**** to re-activate their debit card through an automated service. Please disregard any such message. Pyramid Federal Credit Union will never contact you via text for such issues. If you have any questions, please contact any of our branches for assistance. Thank you.

Pyramid members now have the ability to access their accounts anytime, anywhere from their mobile phone. You can check your balance, get recent transaction history, see when your loan payment is due and even get info on the latest Pyramid promotions and events, just by texting right from your phone. You’re already texting every day, why not make it useful. To sign up, just contact your branch and register for this convenient service that is TOTALLY FREE to members! Once you’re signed up, we’ll walk you thru your first few transactions and you see how truly easy and convenient mobile banking is. If you’ve already signed up, here are some useful keywords:

This past Saturday Pyramid staff and members were at Purple Heart Park in Rita Ranch to kick off summer with the annual Rita Family Fun Day event. Rita Family Fun Day is just one of the many events, schools and organizations that Pyramid and its employees support throughout the year. On Saturday May 21st, Pyramid members, volunteers and employees will get together for fun, food and entertainment at the 82nd Annual Dinner and Meeting. The event will be held at the Marriott University Park Hotel and the festivities kick off at 6:00pm. The night will start with a short business meeting and the election of two new board members. Dinner and entertainment will follow the business meeting and the night will conclude with drawings for cash prizes and an open mic for members to share their Pyramid stories. Call or stop in to your branch to reserve your spot today! Members are just $10 and kids with a Pyramid account are just $5. Want to bring a guest? Finally, Pyramid will be going mobile! In just a few weeks, you’ll have access to your Pyramid account in the palm of your hand, anywhere you go! With the ability to text for account information or view your account with the help of the Pyramid app, you’ll always know what’s going on with your account.

Pyramid’s 80th anniversary.

November 29, 2009 is Pyramid Credit Union’s 80th anniversary. In 1925 some postal employees started Pyramid Investment Club to serve postal workers. The club was converted to Pyramid Credit Union on November 29, 1929 – the first credit union formed in Arizona after the legislature passed laws allowing credit unions.

We’re proud to share our 80th anniversary, Nov. 29, 1929, with:

• The first Academy Awards held in Los Angeles.
• The Museum of Modern Art opened in New York City.
• US Admiral Richard Byrd became the first person to fly over the South Pole.

While a lot’s changed in 80 years, some things at Pyramid will never change. Pyramid Credit Union will continue to offer our members great loan rates, strong returns on investments and all the products and services you need to manage your finances.
